Seeing as it is the perfect time of year for planting vegetables, my boyfriend and I took the plunge after reading up quite a lot of information about it we felt like we knew what to do.
Our vegetables will be organically grown using only organic fertaliser (eg. Organic Chicken Manure...)
As we shall be moving house in july we have made a portable vegetable patch in a box made from old disused pallets. (Recycle & Reuse!) I keep repeating 'Make do and mend' in my head, a quote used mainly in WW1&2. To help save our planet we can reduce waste by reclycling and re using. By growing our own food we can help minimalise deforestation as we will no longer be having our veg/ meat flown over from foreign countries which are chopping down their trees to make room for farmland and cattle. This will benefit us as individuals in a few ways that we know where our food has come from, that it hasn't been genetically modified or sprayed with unnecessary chemicals and it will also be free! As for meat, we shall always try to buy meat which has come from the UK.
Bit of a thought splurge there^
Here is our new vegetable planter:
