Today Emily and I went to New Pudsey, to visit SCRAP which is a resource/ place for artists and crafters etc to find all sorts of things that other people would consider to be scrap. The organisation promotes recycling and re using which is perfect for our project. Many of the items they have would have gone to landfill if they hadn't intercepted first. Unfortunately when we went it was not fully open yet as they have recently moved locations, but other than that it was such a positive day. We bumped into a freelance photographer/ writer who is interested in sustainability who wishes to write an article about scrap and also feature mine and Emilys project! :D
Also in the next couple of weeks I am hoping to start doing some volunteer work there as they are currently looking for volunteers. The Sunny Bank Mills space is gorgeous and very creative. Emily and I are hoping to do the bulk of our photography there as its beautiful, old & new, lots of light and lots of friendly faces. It was great to get out of college and speak to some real creatives and find out that they aren't that scary after all!
The Ones to Watch Exhibition is in the Gallery section of the Mill Buildings and looks like it's going to be a good one!
Photo's to come...
I only took a couple of photo's while we were there as I took my old bulky point and shoot digital camera which isn't very sneaky. We also weren't sure whether we were allowed to take photo's but the space was absolutely lovely.
Further Planning and what not for each of our arty zine books.
